Wake Up Hour - Jeff Jones
It's Tuesday after absolutely nothing happened on Monday, so what are we supposed to do about that? The Blues recalled Tage Thompson yesterday, and that probably means he's with the team to play rather than sit in the press box. The Cardinals may be circling around more deals but Tampa has historically been a hard team to deal with. The Panthers being for sale can be a difficult challenge for their fans who may have to sweat out some relocation rumors. The PR weight of moves can be really heavy on a league. All of the Marlins who are still stuck in Miami may want out, but the Marlins may not be willing to jam through a deal for the sake of a deal.
Segment One - Chris Denman, Travis Terrell, Michael Gaines, Jeff Jones
Jeff is on one this morning and he's excited because he managed to drag himself through the Wake Up Hour. Gaines is not excited about the guest. Hockey guests can be a little bit of a challenge sometimes. Is Mike Wazowski coming on the radio? Hockey Bob's Ghost Writer is a mystery. Do we need to reach out to the listeners to suggest guests to us? Hockey Bob calls in to improve our guest roster and holds Gaines accountable. Hockey Bob might be coming in to hang out with Buffa on a Friday night. The hawk has gone away. The way you handle panhandling with people of your race can be different from people of another race. Jeff got robbed in front of the Del Taco once and Gaines knows that's a rough spot. Travis has a message for panhandlers who are downloading the show. Kobe got his jerseys retired last night and Gaines wants to know if Travis is still supporting Kobe post-rape. Kobe may not be better than Tim Duncan. His whole family showed up in a helicopter and it was badass. Jeff used to have a regular florist which makes Travis really want to be a kept man. Jameis Winston is probably going to be around Tampa for a while. It's really hard to find a QB who can truly impact the level of talent around them. Gaines thinks the NFL is definitely changing but not dying. Does having someone's number in your phone mean that you know them? Travis thinks maybe Cam Newton isn't in the community anymore. Harassers do things for the power dynamic. Jerry Richardson is in to some weird stuff. The text line shows back up so we plow through it. Juanita Jordan is the richest black woman in the world who no one talks about.
Segment Two (with Greg Wyshynski) - Chris Denman, Travis Terrell, Jeff Jones
The Morning Melee and Fair Or Foul come out early because we have a guest. Chris Farley passed away 20 years ago today. Chris Farley was going to be Shrek, which is pretty crazy to think about. Speedballs are bad for you. Travis thinks Jeff is a Blues hater but he's coming with numbers. Joined LIVE by Greg Wyshynski (@wyshynski) from ESPN to talk Blues and the NHL. NBC is reviving The Office and we're both concerned and excited. Dwight might be the heart of it and it may work better as a spin off. Everyone who was on that show probably costs too much to bring back. Jeff forgot about Plop and Dwight Jr. It's hard to bring The Office back without Michael at all. Todd Packer would have some problems with the #MeToo movement. Chris is Bob Vance and Travis is Darryl. Jeff thinks he's Kevin but everyone else thinks he's Dwight. Jeff wants The West Wing to come back and Chris thinks it should be Married With Children. We should bring back Fresh Prince with Jaden Smith and King of the Hill is coming back. Seth MacFarlane had a ridiculous career and he was supposed to die on 9/11. Carlos Mencia doesn't work anymore.
Segment Three - Chris Denman, Travis Terrell, Jeff Jones
Tomorrow is an experimental day in college football with the early signing day. It'll be an important day to see if Mizzou is making headway in the places where they need to make improvements. James Brown had a little bit of a whoopsie with his Twitter account this weekend. It's important to make sure you don't hit the share button on a porn site. The listeners will all be sitting in for us on Friday. John Skipper is skipping his way on out of ESPN and is citing substance abuse as the reason. It's really hard for a guy like Skipper to have anyone who's able to truly challenge him. Travis isn't happy with Condi Rice but likes her a little more than Rex Tillerson. Jeff sneezed into the mic and the cough button doesn't work back here. Matt Damon is sticking his neck out right now and it's not a good look for him. Damon is a top tier guy so Travis would be very surprised if he hadn't heard these rumors before. Now is not the time for him to speak up because it's not like innocent people are really getting swept up in this. Hollywood has decades and decades of this behavior so Matt Damon probably needs to sit down now. Jeff is really mad at Dan Brown and hates how rich he is. It's really hard to see someone in a special that's really good. Kevin Hart gets people to laugh at his energy and not the jokes. It's hard to really draw inspiration from someone who isn't accessible or relatable. Rotten Tomatoes is mean to Jumanji. Disney is never going to stop their live action remakes. Panhandlers in Farmington face an angry reception. Fair or Foul closes the show as always.
